Bartolome "B" J. Alomar Bartolome "B" Alomar, 81, died June 29, 2006, at his residence. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Gunter and Peel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Howell G. Mims officiating. Burial will follow at Vaughn. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Alomar was born June 27, 1925, in Lowndes County to the late Bartholomew and Lena Ingle Alomar. A lifelong resident of Lowndes County, he attended Demonstration School and graduated from S.D. Lee High School in 1946. He served in Italy for three years during World War II. He was a farmer and an active member of Mt. Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served as a trustee of the Vaughn Cemetery Association. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Rafael and Luis; and sister Gabriela Alomar Moore. Pallbearers will be Wayne Box, Dwight Colson, Dave Fishel, Billy Kerstetter, Wes Mims, Donnie Newman, Bobbie Porter and Daniel Weathers. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Mt. Zion C.P. Church, Shelby Box, Curtis Crawley, Joe Fields, Mike Kerby Sr. and Charles Nettles. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion C.P.
