Louise Cooper

ARTESIA - Louise Cooper, 73, died Nov. 23, 2007, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden 
Triangle. 

Services are Saturday at 1 p.m. at Beulah Grove MB Church with Pastor Thomas 
Rice officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Artesia. Visitation is today 
from 4-6 p.m. at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home Chapel in Columbus. 

Mrs. Cooper was born June 5, 1934, to the late Dennis and Augusta Hairston. She was a 
homemaker and a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church and later New Hope Baptist 
Church in Artesia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, 
June Cooper; sisters, Laura Jean  Crockett, Mary Lena Clayborn and Magnolia Hairston; 
and brother, Jessie Hairston. 

She is survived by her son, James Hairston of Starkville; daughter, Hattie Sanders of 
Artesia;  brothers, Joe Hairston of St. Louis, and Judge and Dennis Hairston, both of 
Columbus;  sisters, Augusta Ferguson of Artesia, Dora Orr of Indianapolis, and Roxie 
Hines and Lula Bell Johnson, both of St. Louis; five grandchildren and five 
great-grandchildren.  

Pallbearers will be her neighbors and friends.
