William H. Harrison, 58 of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – GT, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Saturday June 14, 2008 from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM with services to be held Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 11:00 AM in Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sammy Crawford officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Mr. Harrison was a resident of Columbus, MS for the past 28 years having moved from Metairie, LA. He was previously employed as an automotive service writer for Carl Hogan Chevrolet with five years of service, a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 69. Mr. Harrison coached youth league baseball and soccer as well as refereeing soccer. He is preceded in death by his father, Bill Burgin and son-in-law, Kevin Sims.

He is survived by his wife - Evelyn LaBruyere Harrison, Columbus, MS; mother - Cathy Burgin, Columbus, MS; daughter - Shan Harrison (Jim) McCarty, Flowood, MS; son - Sean (Danielle) Harrison, Memphis, TN; brother - Ronny (Pam) Harrison, Columbus, MS; Step-brother – Bob (Peggy) Burgin, Floyd, VA: Bill (Terry) Burgin, III, Greensboro, NC; Step-sister – Helen Burgin (Eric) Jenson; Shaker Heights, OH;l granddaughter - Autumn Sims; nephew – Lance Harrison.

Pallbearers will be Lindley Boyd, Roger Williams, Cecil Lindsey, Tom Scheward, Tommy Johnson, Jim McCarty, Lance Williams, and Melvin Kemp. Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of Kidney Care, employees of the medical laboratory at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Dr. Jason Dunn, Dr. Richard Vallette, Dr. Barton Williams, and members of the Becky Anderson Sunday School Class.
