Emma Lou Irons-Johnson

Mrs. Emma Lou Irons-Johnson, 89, of Chicago Heights, Ill. died October 19, 2003 at Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Chicago Heights. Services were Saturday, Oct. 25, at Hopewell M.B. Church in Columbus, Rev. Tommy Cox officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Carter's Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Irons-Johnson was born Sept. 12, 1914, the daughter of the late Juanita and Oliver Lowe. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnnie Irons; four brothers; two children, Clarence Irons Sr. and John Irons; she later remarried frank Johnson, who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include brothers Mark Lowe of Columbus and William Lowe of Detroit, Mich.; a sister, Annie Pearl Bankhead of Van Nuys, Calif.; also 12 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
Friends of the family served as pallbearers.
