Miss Carolyn King Carolyn King, 94, died Nov. 17, 2006. Services were Sunday at Nowell Funeral Home in Louisville, with the Revs. Ron McDougald and Howell G. Mims officiating. Interment followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Louisville. Miss King was born Sept. 19, 1912, in Louisville. In 1941, she moved to Caledonia where she served as a teacher and administrator at Caledonia Elementary School until her retirement in 1986. She continued to be affiliated with the school performing various duties until 2000. One of her many accomplishments was to raise money and build an elementary school gymnasium. She was inducted into the Lowndes County Educators Hall of Fame in 1993. She was a member of Caledonia Methodist Church where she also taught Sunday School with 21 years of perfect attendance. Pallbearers were Farris Jr. and Gage Gibbs, Jimmy Davis, Roger Hill, Robert Lee Loftis, Pruitt Calvert and Bill Darnell.
