Canton, Miss. - The funeral for Mrs. Pauline
Elizabeth (Butts) Knight, 80, 211 Monroe Street,
Canton, will be at 2 p.m. today in Breeland 
Funeral Home chapel, Canton, with the Rev.
Lewis Smith officiating.  Burial will be in 
Canton Cemetery. 

She died Friday at Helen Keller Memorial
Hospital, Sheffield, Ala.

She was a resident of Canton for 30 years,
member of First Baptist Church, Canton,
a graduate of Mississippi State College for
Women in Columbus with graduate work
at Duke University, Durham, N.C., and
Tulane University, New Orleans, was a
charter member of the Mississippi chpater 
of Delta Kappa Gamma and worked as a
teacher at Morehead Junior College,
Florida, and in the Jackson and Canton
public school systems. [it was not mentioned,
but she also worked in the Starkville School
System and she was born in Artesia, Miss.].
Survivors include sisters, Mrs. Charles Miller
[Selena Butts], Sheffield, Mrs. T. R. "Sadie" Smith-Vaniz,
Canton; several nieces and nephews.
