Earlene F. Scott Earlene F. Scott, 60, died Sept. 29, 2006, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at New Hope CME Church with the Rev. Eugene Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Armstrong Cemetery. Visitation is today from noon until 6 p.m. at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home Chapel in Columbus, with the family greeting visitors from 5 to 6 p.m. Mrs. Scott was born Oct. 18, 1945, to the late Tommie and Julia Mae Ferguson. She worked for 36 years as an assistant teacher at New Hope Elementary School. She was a member of New Hope CME Church where she was a member of the choir, a stewardess and on the board of trustees. She is survived by her son, Gayron Scott of Starkville; daughter, April Ellis of Columbus; brothers, Charlie and Joe Ferguson, both of Columbus, and Willie Ferguson of Muskegon, Mich.; sisters, Pearlie Me. Williams, Julia Mae Hudson, Celia Moore and Fannie Sephenson, all of Columbus, and Bertha Williams of Chicago; and five grandchildren. Howard Brewer, Jason Lang, Willie Scott, Lavarous Smith, Tony Stephenson and Ezell Turner will serve as pallbearers.
