Sylvester Taylor

Sylvester Taylor, 65, died Aug. 24, 2006, in Columbus. Services will be
 Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home Chapel in Columbus 
with the Rev. Marcellus Nabors officiating. Burial will follow at St. Matthews 
Cemetery. Visitation is today from noon until 5 p.m. at the funeral home. 
Mr. Taylor was born Jan. 29, 1941, to the late Sylvester and Leanna Taylor Sr. 
He drove for Sykes Cab Co. and the post office. He was also a mechanic for 
many years at Holiday Chevron Service Station. He was a member of 
Saint Matthews MB Church. He is survived by his wife, Maggie Taylor of 
Columbus; son, Sylvester III of Starkville; stepson, Robert Williams of Columbus; 
daughter, Gail Nabors of Atlanta; sisters, Minnie and Darlivia Taylor, both of 
Chicago, and Lucy Jackson of Maryland; and four grandchildren. Family and 
friends will serve as pallbearers.
