BROOKS-HENKEL CEMETERY

This cemetery is located approximately 1.5 miles north of Starkville Road, approximately 2.0 miles west of the town of Crawford, just east of the Oktibbeha-Lowndes County line. The cemetery consists of a fenced-in structure at the top of a hill built in 1960 by descendants of the Henkel and Brooks families and an African American portion down the same hill on the north side. One grave is just outside the fence on the south side. The cemetery is inaccessible without contacting the property owners. The cemetery is sometimes called Brooks-Henkel Cemetery.
