Ethel
[Peterson] White, 89, of Columbus passed away July 24, 2005, at Trinity
Healthcare in Columbus.Services were held today, July 26, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chris Young officiating. Mrs. White's body will lie in state one hour prior to service at Memorial Funeral Home. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Interment will follow at Knights of Pythian Cemetery in Artesia. Mrs. White was born on July 7, 1916, in Egypt to the late Max and Emma McGhee Peterson.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, and a U.S. Navy Veteran having served during WWII. She lived in Memphis for many years and worked for Murdock Printing Co. After returning to Lowndes County she was the Artesia City Clerk for 10 years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Arch White. Survivors include neices and nephews. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society Lowndes County Unit, P.O.
