We here in Lowndes are attempting to build a local
network of people and resources to aid those of you who are searching by
"long distance". We are in the earliest stages of organizing, however,
and this will take some time. Therefore, we hope that you will be willing
to share the information that you have with those who are also searching
the same areas.
If you have reference books, census records, birth/death records, marriage
records, etc. from which you are willing to share information, please send
the information to me via the e-mail link below or to: Please put "Lowndes WEB PAGE References"
in the subject line so that the information may be properly routed. You should include your name, and a means by which you can be reached -
such as an e-mail address or snail mail (US postal service) address, or
both, if you choose; and the materials that you have available. For
example: census 1860, complete. ["complete" would mean that you have the
entire census] Most of us copy only the pages of any record which have our
own surnames. In that case, you might list the name(s). Ex: "census 1860,
Doe, Smith, Jones." If you have books, give a brief description of
the information covered and the years of coverage.
The information that you send will be put in a file that can be read by
interested parties. It will be updated as information comes in. If you are researching the Ellis Family, you may wish to subscribe to this newsletter.
